
Azerbaijan's public association “Scientific and Cultural Development of Youth” and Baku Pedagogical Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining are holding an event on World Teacher's Day.
The event has brought together rector of the Institute Azer Zamanov, head of the Azerbaijan Cultural Association "Simurg" Fuad Mammadov, head of the "Scientific and Cultural Development of Youth" Sardar Yusifoglu as well as honored teachers and younger generation of the country.
World Teachers' Day is marked in over 100 countries worldwide each year on October 5. This is a professional day for all teachers and education workers. This day honors teachers’ role and contribution in quality education as well as their invaluable contribution to society.
Special Intergovernmental Conference on the Status of Teachers held in Paris on October 5, 1996 provided a historical prerequisite to launch ae Teacher's Day. As a result of the conference, representatives of UNESCO and the ILO signed a document entitled "Recommendations concerning the status of teachers.”
