International archeological conference on Karabakh underway in Baku

An international scientific conference on “Karabakh in the Stone Age” to mark the 50th anniversary of discovering Azikh cave has started today in Azerbaijan's capital. The organizer of the event is the Archaeology and Ethnography Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

The director of Archaeology and Ethnography Institute of ANAS, doctor of historical sciences Maisa Rahimova spoke about the aim and importance of the event.

Addressing the conference, the president of the ANAS, academician Mahmud Karimov and the secretary-academician of the history and philology department of the National Academy of Sciences of Russia, Anatoly Derevyanko wished success to the event participants.

The conference brought together scientists from Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and other countries. The event is also featuring discussions and reports on the topic.
