Strategically important oil pipeline in Azerbaijan exploded

In accordance with the plan of measures, the Ministry of Emergency Situations together with BP Company conducted the exercise of test explosion of strategically important oil pipeline in Agstafa.

Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, BP Company and Special State Protection Service attended the exercise. Basing on the exercise, test explosion occurred in the 18th substation of the oil pipeline. Immediately after a call to 101 or 112 about the fire is received, the firefighters of the ministry rush to the reported scene of fire. Depending on the scale and nature of the fire, experienced and professional firefighters take control of the fire by means of technical equipment at their disposal. Fire-fighting helicopters and aircraft are also made use of in fighting strong fires.

After the exercise, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Etibar Mirzeyev provided detailed information of purpose and results of the exercise.
