Book "Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan: Unreconciled Differences" presented in the UK

28 September 2010 [11:38] - TODAY.AZ
The Azerbaijani embassy in the UK presentation of a book by editor of Canadian Esprit de Corps Scott Taylor called "Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan: Unreconcilable Differences", the embassy reported. The event involved representatives of the diplomatic corps of foreign countries, representatives of mass media, researchers, interested in the region and others.

Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov noted that the book provides unbiased information about events ongoing in the country, about Nagorno-Karabakh. He expressed hope that the book will contribute to bringing the truth of Nagorno-Karabakh to the world community. Gurbanov also shared his impressions about the book and said that it came out as a result of a long research.

A video material on the book which speaks of the purposes of the book was demonstrated later. The author says that the events which occurred in Eastern Anatolia and South Caucasus- the 1915 events and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue were brought to the attention of the Canadian community unilaterally. Therefore, in order to present true information, the author has decided to write a book.

The author regrets that despite the fact that the scale of atrocities committed by Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh war, were much larger compared to the tragedy in the Balkans in the 90 years, this conflict and the whole Caucasus region have not been given due attention.

Taylor said this book has been published to fill this void, and that similar presentations will be provided in many countries. The book has been written on the basis of the author's visit to the South Caucasus, as well as the meeting with the Nagorno-Karabakh war victims.
