Heavy rains block Lankaran-Lerik highway

Heavy rains have blocked the road between Azerbaijan’s southern Lankaran and Lerik regions, Deputy Head of Lerik Region Administration Habil Malikov said. Torrents of water carried on a lot of dirt and rocks to the road blocking the traffic.  

The traffic in the 17-28 km section of Lankaran-Lerik highway that links Tengivan village of Lankaran and Piran village of Lerik has been seriously blocked. Every effort is made to restore the traffic despite continuing rains that pose additional problems.
