"Some 197 pedagogical posts remain vacant in Baku's schools"

Some 197 pedagogical posts remain vacant in schools in Baku, the Education Minister Misir Mardanov told journalists today. He said 800 teachers this year are assigned to regional schools, whose activities will be carried out within the framework of state support program from Sept. 15.

Mardanov also said that in the current academic year, the number of first-graders will exceed last year's figure by a few thousand. In recent years reduction was observed in the number of first-graders. The minister added, that comprehensive schools in Azerbaijan prepare for the new school year.
