Azerbaijan's National Council set to develop media advertising market

Efforts to develop Azerbaijan's media advertising market will cover not only printed press, but also television and radio stations, National Television and Radio Council Chairman Nushiravan Maharramli said.

"The council must pay specific attention to media advertising," he said. "Television channels should also be exempted from common taxation on advertising."

Head of the Azerbaijani Press Council Aflatun Amashov told journalists yesterday that the council is working to exempt media from common taxation on advertising.

Maharramli said advertising in print media has reduced due to development of electronic media in the country.
