Azerbaijan set to develop extreme tourism

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and Tourism said it is developing a new extreme tourism route in the mountains between Shamakhi and Guba.
According to the ministry, the route will be launched as part of the Ministry's "Let's open new tourism routes of Azerbaijan" project which will mark World Tourism Day on September 27.

The ministry said the route would follow a mountain journey covering villages and places of interest in Guba and Shamakhi.

The first test of the route will involve representatives of 10 tourism companies and members of the 4x4 car club.

The project is developed as part of the state program to develop tourism in Azerbaijan in 2010-2014.
