
Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Political Analysis and Information Department Elnur Aslanov met with participants of the 8th Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum, (ASAIF) from 15 countries, the ASAIF reported.
Baku hosted the 8th Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum on Aug. 20-21. More than 600 appeals were received from students and alumni from more than 30 countries. Only 200 of them received an invitation.
The forum was organized with the support of the Azerbaijani Youth and Sport.
Tthe organizing committee decided to register the forum as a public association to ensure more efficient work of the forum in the future. The committee appealed to the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration with the request to provide state support to the forum. The administration gave a positive response in a very short period of time.
During the meeting with Aslanov, the participants discussed a number of important issues. Aslanov assessed the forum as a successful project and said that the government is ready to render any necessary assistance to the forum.
It was also noted that the purpose of Azerbaijani students studying abroad is not only to get education but also to promote positive image of Azerbaijan, lobbying and active participation in the diaspora.
It was further noted that it is necessary to coordinate the activities of youth in the city, where they resided. It is planned to create a web resource for young people, students and alumni. Youth can actively participate in the exchange of information through this resource.
The meeting decided to hold the next meeting in one of the leading cities of Europe.
