CIS IPA to observe parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

The CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) Council Secretariat will observe upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.
The election headquarters of the Baku branch of the Secretariat's International Institute for monitoring development of democracy, parliamentary system and electoral rights of citizens will begin observations on organization and course of the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan on Sept. 10, the branch said.

The CIS IPA Council Baku branch will establish electoral headquarters in five regions of Azerbaijan, each of which will involve four experts.

The experts will conduct long-term observation on preparation, organization and conduct of the elections.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for Nov. 7. The elections are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
