Press Council: Azerbaijan develops package of proposals to boost media's financial status

The discussions on improving financial status of media, expansion and development of the advertising market also focused on a situation in the country in this area and similar models in other countries, Amashov added.

"The purpose is to develop a package of proposals to boost financial status of the country's independent media for a certain period of time," Amashov said.

According to him, the council already has already studied foreign practice.

"The council held numerous consultations with local experts. Participants of the round table to be held in the coming days will be reported about this," Amashov added.

Speakers at the meeting put forward their proposals to expand the advertising market. It was decided to prepare a final document on proposals to be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
