California's leading Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has hosted an event dedicated to Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the evening organized by the cultural society which unites medics from the Middle East in Los Angeles (Near-Eastern American Medical Society of Los Angeles), Dr. Nurulla Parkhami briefed the guests on rich traditions of the Azerbaijani music, Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles said.
Parkhami particularly stressed evolution of tar, Azerbaijan's national musical instrument and mutual influence of cultures in the region. Records of the Azerbaijani music masters, including those of renowned Azerbaijani tar player Ramiz Guliyev, as well as fragments from the film "Arshin mal alan" and record of the "Garabag shikestesi" concert were demonstrated.
In turn, a native of Azerbaijan, St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre soloist Timur Abdikeyev lively performed the Azerbaijani folk song "Sari gelin".
Consul General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov also addressed the event.
He spoke about the dynamics of regional development in Eurasia.
