
Azerbaijan recorded 57 criminal facts related to human trafficking in 2010, Officer of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's Department for Fight against Human Trafficking Araz Babayev said at the event on the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.
"A total of 21 people were brought to the criminal charges. The department assisted 27 victims of human trafficking, 11 of them were placed in rehabilitation centers and five people provided with jobs. 21 people will take training courses," Babayev said.
The world commemorates Aug. 23 as International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.
