Justice Ministry officer commits terrible murder in Azerbaijan - UPDATE

Assistant to Yasamal district’s Prosecutor Azer Mirsalamov said criminal case under articles 120.2.1 (deliberate murder committed by a group of individuals, group of persons by prior conspiracy, an organized group or criminal association) and 120.2.4 (deliberate murder committed with extreme cruelty or dangerous method) has been filed.

"An external examination of Ismail Allahverdiyev’s body showed 54 stab wounds. But when the corpse was taken to the morgue, autopsy revealed 71 stab wounds. Currently, condition of one of the participants of the murder Habil Bayramov, who jumped from fifth floor, is critical,” he said.

Speaking about the motive that led to the murder, Mirsalamov said nothing is known about this yet.

"The motive will be clarified in the course of the investigation. Investigative measures are still going on,” Mirsalamov added.

The incident happened in Yasamal district on Aug. 22. 

Officer of Justice Ministry’s Penal Service, Major Habil Bayramov, 35, together with his friend Faig Yahyayev, 36, arrived at the house of Ismayil Allahverdiyev, 72, chief of Bilajari district Department of Energy Supply and killed him with 54 knife blows.

Close relatives living nearby ran Allahverdiyev's house as they heard his cry. They entered the house, breaking down doors. At this point, one of the participants of the murder Bayramov tried to escape and jumped from the balcony on the fifth floor. He was taken to hospital in serious condition. But Yahyayev was arrested at the site.

The incident happened due to personal conflict. Yasamal district’s Prosecutor’s Office has launched criminal case on the fact on article 120.1 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code.

An investigation is underway.
