"People, who become IDP as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, live in the dormitories of the BSU. More than 1,500 students from 20 countries study in the university. We can not increase the number of foreign students due to problems with the hostel," Maharramov said.

"Despite the fact that we live in a war conditions, the state pays great attention to science and education while forming the state budget," Maharramov said. The meeting also mulled the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Deering stressed that U.S. supports Azerbaijan and the peaceful resolution of the conflict.

"The National Guard of Oklahoma is a partner of Azerbaijan within the framework of state cooperation since 2003. From this perspective, the Oklahoma schools are open to the Azerbaijani state universities, including the BSU," Deering said.

Speaking about bilateral cooperation, he said that they are interested in exchanging students and teachers, sharing of experiences. Then the delegation familiarized with the BSU and the research laboratories.
