Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences prepares list of higher schools able to found doctoral degree programs

Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is preparing opinions about the higher education establishments planning to found doctoral degree programs, first vice-president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Arif Hashimov told APA.

He said according to the “Rules for founding doctoral degree programs and admission”, the higher and scientific education establishments planning to found doctoral degree programs will apply to the Cabinet of Ministers through the organizations they are subordinated to.

Agriculture Ministry, Health Ministry, Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry, Ministry of Industry and Energy, Economic Development Ministry and all departments of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences have already applied for founding doctoral degree programs at the education establishments subordinated to them. The applications are being analyzed.

“After the analysis of the applications we will give opinion to the Cabinet of Ministers on the establishments that can found doctoral degree programs,” he said.

According to Arif Hashimov, they are trying to complete the analysis of the applications and process of preparation of the opinions soon.

“The analysis is expected to finish next week. After that the final opinion will be presented to the Cabinet of Ministers,” he said.
