
A bushfire blazed up in farms of the Ashagi Khuj village of Azerbaijan’s Guba region. According to APA northern bureau, about 400 ha of cropped field was burned out.
The fire extended into the nearby forest because of hot and windy weather. Two hectares of forests between Guba and Gusar regions of Azerbaijan burned out. Firefighters of Guba and Khachmaz regions arrived at the site. The fire was extinguished in the farms, but it still continues in the forests. Windy weather created difficulties for the firefighters. Brigades o the Northern regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were involved in the firefighting measures.
Director of the Forest Protection and Restoration Enterprise Ramik Ashrafov told APA correspondent that the fire blazed up because of carelessness of local residents and extended into the forest. Local residents and staff members of the enterprise were also involved in extinguishing the fire.
