Famous Azerbaijani composer dies

Famous Azerbaijani composer Ogtay Kazimi died on August 9. The composer’s family told APA that Ogtay Kazimi had suffered from heart failure. Yesterday he felt bad and died in the evening.

Ogtay Mammad Kazimov (Kazimi) was born in Astara on December 27, 1932. He composed concerts for folk instruments, vocal symphonic poem devoted to Heydar Aliyev (“Milletin oyag gecesi”), “Garabagh rapsodiyasi”, songs for about 60 performances, operettas. Title of honorary art figure was conferred on Ogtay Kazimi in 1992.
