Mubariz Ibrahimov - National Hero fulfills his destiny

31 July 2010 [11:35] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani soldier Mubariz Ibrahimov is a national hero now, who tragically died on the frontline, defending his motherland. Ibrahimov managed to kill four enemy soldiers, wounded four more.

Future soldier was born in a small Aliabat village in Bilasuvar region of Azerbaijan. The doors of his home are now always open - people just won't stop coming. They come to express their condolences to the hero's parents. In his last letter, Ibrahimov asked his parents not to cry, and to be proud instead.

"Every evening I look at the occupied territories, and my heart is ready to explode, as I see these empty dead lands. Each of those houses used to have light inside, people used to talk loud. And now, there is nothing but dead silence. This reminds me of the enemy, who did this to my motherland", says Ibrahimov in one of his letters.

"He was always different from other boys. He was always silent, calm. I remember, once when he was young, he told me: "I want to be rich, to be able to help others, who need it." Everything he had, he was ready to share with those, who needed it," says his mother, Shamama Ibrahimova.

"I am deeply hurt, but I am proud of my boy. He died like a hero. Sometimes I think that this was his destiny, to protect his motherland. He was always very hurt because of this conflict, and dreamed of the day, when Azerbaijan will get the occupied territories back. It seemed like he knew, that he would die young. Everytime we started to talk about marriage, he would always laugh.", she adds.

Unfortuately, the body of Mubariz Ibrahimov is still on the occupied territories, and cannot be buried properly. Armenian side refuses to return the body to Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva says: "It looks like Armenians are trying to express their revenge on the dead man. This is just horrendous, and I am simply out of words. Their behavior is just unacceptable."

The Hero is dead, but his name lives on. One of the schools in Bilasuvar region will be given Ibrahimov's name. On the initiative of Ganira Pashayeva, a documentary film on Ibrahimov will be shot. Ibrahimov's heroism is being discussed all over the blogs and forums.

As of now, whole Azerbaijan is proud of a young man, who died, defending something he believed in, something he was destined to do. Something of his own. Rest in Peace.
