Appeals from victims of torture increase in Azerbaijan

"The number of appeals from individuals who are subject to torture, have increased in Azerbaijan over the last months," Chairman of Committee against Torture, human rights activist Elchin Behbudov said.

He said complaints basically relate to torture of prisoners that the committee receives from their relatives and friends. "On our part, we check the facts set forth by the citizens," Behbudov added.
