Number of officially registered religious communities in Azerbaijan revealed

So, the number of officially registered religious communities totals 450 in Azerbaijan. State Committee Chairman Hidayat Orujov said religious communities are registered in line with amendments to the Constitution and the Law "On freedom of religion."

According to him, Azerbaijani government and the public take an uncompromising stance against external factors that could deal a blow to religious stability in the country.

"Possessing a broad outlook, high intelligence and culture, the Azerbaijani people cannot support radical, extremist ideas and trends,” he added.
