The Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) received more appeals (33-percent increase) from abroad in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period of 2009, the fund reported.

The appeals were submitted by foreign pension and insurance institutions, foreigners and Azerbaijanis living abroad.
In the first half of 2010, the fund received 1,147 appeals, 800 of which were from CIS countries.
The appeals relate to the preparation and submission of relevant official documents, regulation of bilateral relations in specific cases related to the pension rights of citizens.
The fund received 73 appeals from Turkey aimed at taking concrete steps to implement social insurance and pension rights of citizens corresponding to the bilateral agreements between the two countries in the sphere of social protection.
The remaining 274 applications were received from other countries.
