Azerbaijan sees significant drop in jobless rate

A total of 39, 951 individuals have been listed as jobless in Azerbaijan as of July 1, 2010, Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee said.
The number of unemployed reduced by 254 people in June and totaled 40,205.  

Meanwhile, 41,100 people were listed as jobless in Azerbaijan at the beginning of the year. So, the jobless rate has dropped by 1,149 since the beginning of the year.

In June, unemployment benefits averaged 153 manat. 

Women made up 43.5 percent of the unemployed as of July 1.

There were 44,481 unemployed individuals in Azerbaijan as of Jan. 1, 2009.
