Azerbaijani Railways taking measures to eliminate consequences of natural disaster

Azerbaijani Railways has completed laying of pipelines in 86 kilometer section of the Jalilabad-Qirmizikand railway section to ensure water derivation as a result of opening a second branch of the Araz River, the company said.

According to the report, to ensure the flow of water within several days, the infrastructure department of  the company has laid five passes. The conducted works enabled the flow of 300 cubic meters of water per second.

The recent floods in Kura and Araz rivers in Azerbaijan inundated about 20,000 houses, destroyed more than 300 houses, 2,000 became unsafe and 50,000 hectares of farmland were trapped underwater.
