Armed incidents in disaster zones of flooded Azerbaijani regions?

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office has denied the information about armed incident between residents of Sabirabad and Hajigabul regions injured as a result of disaster because of increased water level in the river Kura. Media reported about an armed incident that occurred May 8 at night between residents of the village Abdulushag in Hajigabul region and villagers from Hashimhanly, Etjeler, Gazli and Guruzma in Sabirabad region.

The Prosecutor General's Office conducted investigation and found that this information is not quite correct. There was no confrontation between the residents in the zone of disaster, the press-center of the Prosecutor General's Office said. Media outlets in the pursuit of sensation spread false information. But an attempt to sow panic in the society has failed, the report said.

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office appeals to the media outlets with a request to prevent the spread of false rumors, specifying such reports in law enforcement agencies, including the press center of the Prosecutor General's Office.
