Monument to Azerbaijani poet stolen in Tehran

Monument to prominent Azerbaijani poet Mohammadhuseyn Shahriyar, which was located in front of the Tehran City Theater, was stolen.

Iranian sculptor Ali Gahhari is the author of the monument. Earlier the monument made of bronze was located in the Shahriyar Avenue in Tehran.

In 2009, it was moved to the area in front of the Tehran City Theater, where monuments to Amir Kabir and Kamalul-Mulk erected.

Presently, the relevant agencies identify the reasons and the person who stole the monument.
