World Intellectual Property Organization registers Azerbaijan's state symbols

The state flag and emblem of Azerbaijan are registered by the International Bureau of World Intellectual Property Organization to protect them, the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents told Trend.

The information about state symbols registered by the International Bureau was published in the official newspaper upon the official appeal of the State Committee to the organization.

It is not permitted to register and use emblems, flags and other State emblems as trademarks or elements in accordance with Article 6 of the Paris Convention.

Azerbaijan joined the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property December 25, 1995.
