Azerbaijani Radiation Problems Institute Director: Azerbaijan ups staff potential in nuclear energy

Azerbaijan has increased staff potential in the nuclear field, Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, Adil Garibov, said.

He said that the memorandum was signed with the Korean Atomic Research Institute. Under its supervision, a group of young Azerbaijani specialists will conduct research in Korea in the field of nuclear energy.

"At present, the development and use of hydrocarbon resources is much cheaper, but in the long term the world will increase the need for nuclear energy production. First and foremost, Azerbaijan should have a specialized staff in this area," the director of the Institute said.

There are 12 Azerbaijani specialists engaged in scientific developments on nuclear energy in Hungary, France, Austria, Russia and Ukraine.

Garibov said that there is a need for training in the field of atomic energy in the high schools of Azerbaijan. "Collaborating with leading institutions of the CIS Atomic Energy and the world, we can increase human resources of Azerbaijan in this sphere," he said.
