The relevant agencies began to execute the Azerbaijani President's orders pardoning several prisons on the occasion of Novruz Holiday.

For this end, representatives of the media and human rights activists visited the prisons through the Justice Ministry's Penal Service.
The implementation of the presidential decree will be completed today, Deputy Head of the Penal Service Huseyn Alikhanov told journalists.
The act applied to 72 convicts, 62 of whom have been released from the unserved prison term, and life sentence of a prisoner was replaced with 20-year jail sentence.
According to 46 pardon orders, signed since 1994, 4,957 people were freed from punishment. Fourteen of them were signed by Ilham Aliyev and 32 by the late President Heydar Aliyev.
Eight acts of amnesty, signed until now, covered 40,000 prisoners.
