Aborted fetus was taken from womb of a baby in Azerbaijan

According to ANS TV, a child named Gülay carried a fetus in her womb.

According to her parents, the doctors who examined the child treated her from distention. Then the child's health condition deteriorated significantly, and her parents brought her to the Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after Kubra Farajeva in Baku.

The doctors took the baby in critical condition with a diagnosis of "intestinal obstruction". During the examination it was detected that there was a tumor in the abdomen of the child.

Doctors suspected that it was a fetus and decided to operate immediately the baby because the fetus developed in parallel with Gülay Mammadova, and every day the abdomen was swelling even more. Subsequently, this factor would have a negative impact on the health of the baby.

According to the Department Head of the Institute Allahverdi Musayev, babies were twins in the womb of their mother, but as a result of gene mutation one of the embryos continued to develop in the abdominal cavity of the second.

The extracted fetus was sent for examination, the results of which confirmed the doctors’ diagnosis. The fetus had already formed the cervical vertebrae, part the spine, and lungs.

Currently, the state of Gülay is assessed by doctors as normal. According to doctors, no problems in the health state of the girl are expected to arise in the future. The aborted fetus will stay in the hospital for some period of time. If  no problems occur in the health state of the baby , she will spend the first spring in her life at home with her parents.
