Catalog of archaeological excavations published in Azerbaijan

Catalog of color photographs of archaeological excavations has been published in Azerbaijan for the first time, expedition team leader, doctor of historical sciences Tarikh Dostuyev said.

This catalog has been designed as a result of archaeological expeditions carried out in Shamkir in 2007-2009. All photographs are introduced by categories in the catalog: tools, military weapons, household items, jewelry and money.

According to expedition team leader, arrowheads, knives, fragments of the protective arms, interesting utensils, simple and glazed pottery, glazed pottery bowls, cups, tableware, as well as fragments of discoid window glass, including color and ornamentation in relief, women's jewelry - necklaces, bracelets and rings have been found during the excavation.

Archaeological work was carried out at a depth of 5-6 meters.

The catalog includes information about Shamkir expedition, describes importance of this historic monument and archaeological materials discovered during the excavation.
