Azerbaijan's first scientific-sport expedition in the Andes - PHOTOS

The expedition implemented the scientific-geological program on the geology of Aconcagua Mountain and program on biological diversity of South America.

Video and photos were also shot during the expedition.

Members of the expedition took Azerbaijani flag and pennants depicting “I am proud of being an Azerbaijani” (Heydar Aliyev’s words), “Azerbaijan, forward with Ilham toward new peaks” and portrait of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Moreover, Azerbaijani flag, and banners in Azerbaijani and English “2010 ecology year in Azerbaijan – for the Green World” were hoisted on the peak of the mountain.

All this was done by member of the expedition, head of Ekosport club of Azerbaijan’s Air and Extreme Sports Federation, employee of Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Mirbadal Mirhasanli.

The expedition will soon return to Azerbaijan.
