Scientific conference on Caspian Sea to be held in Iran

Member of the Iranian parliament's Foreign Policy and National Security Commission Mehdi Sanai said Rash city will host the Caspian Sea Scientific Congress with the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki's participation on Oct. 8, IRNA reported.

Sanai added that the congress initiated by the Iranian parliament aims to discuss the Caspian issues, particularly, its status, energy, coastal and ecological issues related to the sea.

The congress will be attended by members of the Iranian parliament's Foreign Policy and National Security Commission, deputies of the Iranian Foreign Minister, and officials of the oil., transport, ecology and customs ministries, as well as the Iranian Port and Shipping Department.

Under close cooperation with the relevant agencies on the Caspian Sea, the Iranian parliament will express an exact and transparent position on the Caspian Sea, Sanai said.

"The congress will help the parliament to shape its stance concerning the Caspian Sea," he said.
