International experts have been involved to investigate murder of the Azerbaijani general, Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov told reporters.
In connection with General Rail Rzayev's murder, his Assistant Aydin Rafiyev, Adjutant Anar Hashimov and some officers of military units have been involved in the investigation. But afterwards, the decision on their arrest was changed. This criminal case is under the President's control and professional experts of the National Security and Interior Ministries have been involved in this case," Garalov said.
Azerbaijani Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Rail Rzayev was shot dead in front of his house on Feb. 11., 2009.
The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit on the case in accordance with Articles 120.2.5 (willful homicide) and 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of firearms, its spare parts, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
Garalov said after the general's murder some things were stolen from his office.
"Some people, headed by Aydin Rafiyev, were involved in concealing this crime. They were arrested. We do not rule out his participation in this murder," the prosecutor general added.
