Justice for Khojaly campaign starts in Azerbaijani schools

In the first week of an academic year pupils of secondary school 6 in Baku launched all- republican initiative supporting the international campaign "Justice Khojaly", initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, General Coordinator for Intercultural Dialogue of the OIC Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation, aimed at telling about Khojaly massacre to secondary school pupils of Europe and OIC member states.

To this end, in the first two weeks of the school year during a history lesson (Knowledge Day and the Day of Peace), students will be told about the Khojaly tragedy, as well as during computer science classes students will be informed about the campaign "Justice Khojaly", in particular, they will be showen the Web site (www.justiceforkhojaly.org) and will be explained the rules for its use.

According to the OIC Baku Office, “after getting familiar with resources of the Web site pupils sent an invitation to their fellow pupils from around the world to join this campaign.” The letter, prepared by pupils of the school 6, said: "We urge you to get familiar with the Khojali tragedy and express our protest against this massacre."
 
On Feb. 25-26 2009, presentation of the campaign were held in 25 countries. At the initiative of the YF recent conferences and summits of the Organization of Islamic Conference adopted documents evaluating Khojaly tragedy as a "massacre" and a crime against humanity.
