Azerbaijani police will tighten security

The Azerbaijani police will tighten security to ensure peaceful new academic year.
The policemen strengthened their regime to ensure safety of events to be held in universities and secondary schools of the country on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge, the Interior Ministry's Official Ehsan Zahidov said.

A month of safe traffic under the slogan of "Attention, Children!", held by the Central Traffic Police Department of the Internal Ministry due to the beginning of a new academic year will last through Sept.10 to Oct.10.

Under presidential decree, dated Aug.21, 2004, the academic year starts  on Sept. 15 in the country.

There are 4,525 secondary schools with teaching staff of 170,000 in Azerbaijan.
