Azerbaijani citizen in Gaza Strip wants return home

Dilara Abdullah said she has lived in Gaza Strip with family for already 13 years.

After Israel's ground operation in Gaza, her family decided to leave for Azerbaijan, but due to children they had to  postponed departure till summer.

She said date her passport has expired. She needed to replace old Soviet passport with a new one. So, she filed documents to the embassy of Azerbaijan in Egypt in January this year, but she has not yet got a passport.

“I have an old mother. She is 70 years old. I want to see my mother. Why can not I come to Azerbaijan? I'm a citizen of Azerbaijan.”

According to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Egypt, Dilara Abadallah’s papers were sent to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. “There have been a response yet.”
