Solemn opening ceremony of Azerbaijani Culture Days in Russia was held in Moscow, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

Exhibition of Azerbaijani photographers was opened in the foyer of the Column Hall of the Kremlin. Deputy Culture Minister of Russia Alexander Golutva and Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev addressed the event following the exhibition. They congratulated the participants on the opening of Azerbaijani Culture Days in Russia.

Alexander Golutva expressed his satisfaction with the high level of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and underlined that cultural cooperation was improving.
“The only factor impeding active cultural exchange between our countries is that the wish to improve cultural relations sometimes does not coincide with the financial opportunities. But we do not give up willingness to strengthen our relations,” he said.

Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev noted that cultural relations between the two countries were developing in harmony with Azerbaijan-Russia bilateral relations in political, economic, commercial, humanitarian and other spheres.
“Realization of today’s cultural exchange between Azerbaijan and Russia after the visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Azerbaijan has a symbolic character. The documents signed by the presidents paved the way for the development of economic programs of mutual interest and political relations,” he said.

According to Garayev, this time Azerbaijani culture will be represented in a different form. He said children’s symphonic orchestra was created in Azerbaijan on the initiative of maestro Mstislav Rostropovich two years ago.
“The orchestra performed in a number of countries within a year and a half and now the orchestra is performing for Moscow audience,” he said.
Abulfas Garayev said after Moscow Azerbaijani delegation will perform in Tatarstan.

Azerbaijan State Children-Youth Symphonic Orchestra performed under the leadership of Teymur Goychayev. The orchestra performed the works by Uzeyir Hajibayov, Gara Garayev, Brahms, Mozart, Vasif Adigozalov, Vagif Mustafazadeh, Straus, Niyazi, Rimsky-Korsakov, Fikrat Amirov and other famous composers. Laureate of the republic competition Elmaddin Ibrahimov performed “Garabagh shikestesi” and students of Baku Choreography School performed overture from “Arshin mal alan” and suite “My Azerbaijan”. vocalist Ismayil Yunusov sang Italian song Jamaica and Azerbaijani folk song “Galaliyam”.
