Fuad Aleskerov: "Rapid economic development has made our country attractive for foreigners"

The issues connected with the improvement of the state regulation of migration are in the focus of permament attention of the head of the state, said Fuad Aleskerov, chief of department for work with law enforcement bodies of the executive administration of the President of Azerbaijan.

According to him, the rapid economic development has made our country attractive for foreigners.

"This is also promoted by the stable political and economic situation, provision of the sociopolitical order and security in the country and tolerance within the Azerbaijani society".

He said the rise in the number of foreigners, willing to work here, in turn, causes the need to strengthen control over the migration processes and improve the mechanism of regulation in this sphere.

"In this connection, the application of the "single window principle" aims to facilitate the procedure of provision of due permissions to foreigners for living and engaging in working activity on legal basis and provision of transparency in the activity of the state bodies, engaged in the regulation of migration processes. At the same time it is necessary to take into account that foreigners and people with no citizenship, violating the migration legislation will be brought to responsibility", noted Aleskerov.

According to him the main idea of the decree of the President of Azerbaijan is to concentrate all powers on the resolution of the migration processes within a single body-the state migration service that will be responsible for legitimacy and timely adoption of decisions, issuance of the due permissions and documents to foreigners and non-state citizens, willing to live and work in Azerbaijan and having legal grounds for it.
