Three Armenians in combat uniform detained in Aghdam region of Azerbaijan - UPDATED

ARMENIA-Today reports with reference to representatives of the separatist formations in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan that the names of the three detained military men are Grant Markosyan, Alik Tevosyan and Artush Vartevyan.

According to Interfax, the military department of the occupational regime of unrecognized "NKR" confirms the fact of detainment of the three Armeniam servicemen by Azerbaijani side.

"Three Armenian servicemen were captured by Azerbaijani side", said spokesman for the so-called "defense army" of the separatist formation Senor Asratyan, according to Interfax.

He said on the night of Saturday three servicemen passed the security zone on the contact line of the armed forces of "Nagorno Karabakh" and Azerbaijan and were caught in the Azerbaijan-controlled territory in unknown circumstances".

The details and circumstances of the incident are being learned, said Asratyan.

Member of the family, who handed over the surrendered Armenians to the soldiers, told about the incident to APA.

"Last night I heard voices in the yard, it was about 01.00. My mother Zumrud Aliyeva and my brother Khaleddin and I came out from the house. We saw three men, probably the soldiers. One of them tried to escape, but my brother detained him. My mother knows Armenian language. She assured them that they would be in peace. My mother checked them when they entered into the house. There were razor, towel and toothpaste with them", Parvin Aliyev, who detained the Armenians surrendered to Azerbaijani side, told APA.

"They were booted in slippers this winter time. We informed the Azerbaijani military servicemen about it. The Armenians told us that there are intolerable conditions in their military units and no one cares about the army. One of them said that he was mobilized for army as soon as he returned from Russia. He said there were very hard conditions in the military units and the soldiers were suffering from the unconcern about them. There are no shoes and foods".

Aliyevs family was displaced from Khojaly and settled in Ergi plain.

"The State Commission on issues of captives, missing people and hostages confirms the fact of capturing of three Armenians by Azerbaijani side", reports the secretary of the state commission Shain Sailov.

He said the captured Armenians were in a combat uniform. They were taken captives by civilians and transferred to Azerbaijani servicemen.

He did not name the Armenians noting that currently the state commission holds inspection.

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry noted that they still have no such information.

Witnesses say Armenians were detained at about 1.00 pm, when they approached the farms on the Ergi plain and asked for food and water.

Local residents understood that these were Armenians and informed the military unit, locating nearby, about it. Later the detained were delivered to Azerbaijani servicemen.

Armenians were in a combat uniform. The causes of their transfer to the lands, controlled by the national army of Azerbaijan are unclear.
