President of Azerbaijan invited to second UN forum "Alliance of civilizations"

The forum will be organized by the Turkish government. The steering committee noted that the forum promises to be a world event, aimed at the development of intercultural dialogue.

The forum is aimed to study wider tasks of effective management of the culral diversity in the era of accelerating globalization, strengthening of ties between nations and cultures and so on.

The opening ceremony will be attended by UN secretary general Pan Gi Mun, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Spain Jose Luis Rodriges Sapatero, senior representative of the Alliance of civilizations Gorge Sampayo, heads of states and governments of different world countries, leaders of international organizations, corporations, representatives of civil society and youth groups as well as experts.

A plenary session and discussions on a high level will be held in the framework of the forum. The first forum of the alliance was held in the Spanish capital Madrid in January of 2008.
