Days when temperature exceeds 40 degrees will be declared nonworking in Azerbaijan

Holidays, mourning days, days of elections and referendums, falling on vacations will be added to holidays after adoption of amendments and alterations to the Labor Code, said deputy chairman of the standing commission on social policy of Milli Medjlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan Musa Guliyev.

A joint session of the standing commissions on social policy and legal policy and state construction of Milli Medjlis discussing draft law "On amendments and alterations to the Labor Code" was held on Monday".

Informing the session participants, Guliyev noted that the commission has been conducting the Labor Code monitoring for already two years.

"During the monitoring, the commission received over a hundred of proposals. 46 amendments and alterations will be introduced to the Code by results of discussions", noted Guliyev.

He said all amendments and alterations improve labor conditions and will ensure the legal regulation of labor issues.

Guliyev added that one of the amendments refers to vocations. According to changes if holidays, mourning days, elections and referendums fall on vacations, they will be added to the employee's vacations.

"Days when the temperature exceeds 41 degree and lower will be declared nonworking. Earlier this indicator made 45 degrees. This change refers to those working in the open areas", noted the deputy.

Moreover, changes will also be attributed to the maternity leaves and maternity allowances.

After discussions the commission members recommended the draft law for consideration at the plenary session of the parliament.
