16 February 2009 [17:25] - TODAY.AZ
Institute of media rights has released a statement due to the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, says the statement of the Institute of media rights.
The statement says that the Institute of media rights is concerned over possible damage to freedom of expression in case an amendment is introduced to the third part of article 32 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan (privacy right).

"The institute is against introduction of amendments to the Constitution about video, photo and audio recording against person's will and consider that such amendment will hinder free receipt, preparation and spread of the desired information and restrict the collection of important information by journalists", says the statement.

The Institute of media rights calls on the government, all political powers of the citizens not to allow introduction of the said amendments to the Azerbaijani Constitution.
