Court trial on case of Azerbaijani soldier from Armenian captivity ends in Baku - UPDATED

According to Day.Az, at today's hearing the court passed a decision on the criminal case of Eybatov Vusal Shirsultan oghlu, charged with high treason.

Under the verdict of the court, Vusal Eybatov is found guilty under article 274 (high treason) and sentenced to 11 years in prison.

The Military court of grave crimes holds a court hearing on the criminal case of soldier of Azerbaijani armed forces Eybatov Vusal, charged with high treason.

According to Day.Az, the hearing is presided by judge Zeynal Aghayev.

As comes from the materials of the case, on April 11 of 2009, Vusal Eybatov, born in Hilmilli village of Gobustan was captured by Armenians in the direction of the Aghdam region.

On May 3 of 2008 he was returned to Azerbaijan. Eybatov is charged under article 274 (high treason). The court hearing is going on.
