Azerbaijan's ombudsman urges to stop offensive in Gaza

Azerbaijani ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova has appealed to the world community with a statement due to the mass violation of human rights during the offensive in Gaza, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for ombudsman's office.

The statement says that Azerbaijani ombudsman voices serious concern due to the violation of rights for residence, human rights, which caused death to civilians in Gaza with women, children, elderly and disabled people among them.

By her statement ombudsman Suleymanova calls on the world community and international organizations to react operatively on the ongoing events, in line with the resolution of the UN security council, announcement of the Supreme commissioner on human rights, UN Secretary General to take urgent measures on the immediate suspension of offensive and launching peaceful talks.

This appeal has been sent to the UN General Secretariat, UN Security Council, UN Supreme Commissioner on Human Rights, Council of Europe, International Federation of Peace, Institute of International Ombudsmen, Association of Ombudsmen of Asia, Institute of Ombudsmen of Europe and so on.
