Azerbaijani soldier killed by Armenian Forces - UPDATED

Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry confirmed that soldier Khasayev Uzeyir Elshad was killed and the other was wounded in Gapanli village of Terter region on December 26.

The ministry’s press service told APA that the ministry was investigating the case.
Press service said additional information would be given depending on the results.
Armenians killed an Azerbaijani soldier and wounded the other near Gapanli village of Terter region yesterday. APA’s Karabakh bureau reports that Khasiyev Uzeyir Elshad, 19, who had been drafted from Zagatala, was killed. The other soldier Huseyibov Islam Huseyib was wounded.

Representatives of Armenian occupational forces refute statements of Azerbaijani mass medias about the penetration of a diversion group to Azerbaijan.

"The statements about the "diversion group" are an absolute lie", said spokesman for the occupational forces Senor Asratyan.

He said an incident occurred on the border which involved the citizens of Aezrbaijan - civilians (residents of an Azerbaijani village) and servicemen of the frontier unit and the incident resulted in a death of one soldier and the wounding of another.

"Yet, the Azerbaijani side tries to shift the blame on us", said Asratyan.

According to initial reports, a group of Armenian intelligence officers approached the post, introduced themselves as commanders and said they wanted to check the post. When one of the soldiers understood that they were not commanders, the enemy began to fire. Khasiyev Uzeyir Elshad, 19, who had been drafted from Zagatala, was killed. The other soldier Huseyibov Islam Huseyib was wounded. He was also reportedly drafted from Zagatala.

Armenians killed one Azerbaijani soldier near Gapanli village of Terter region last night and injured another one, APA Karabakh bureau reports.

Four servicemen of Armenian armed forces passing over the territory of Azerbaijan shot at Azerbaijani soldiers. Armenians killed one soldier and injured another one and took their arms and return back.

A soldier of the Azerbaijani Army was killed as units of the Armenian Army fired at Azerbaijani positions in Gapanli village of Terter region at night from December 25 to 26, ANS PRESS anchor informs. Another soldier was wounded as the result of cease-fire breach. The wounded soldier were taken to nearby Sarijali hospital.
