Bizil Yol newspaper correspondent transferred to correctional facility No 3

Bizil Yol newspaper correspondent Mushvig Huseynov has been transferred from correctional facility No 2 to correctional facility No 3 in the Bina settlement, said journalist's relative Cavidan Huseynov, reports Day.Az with reference to the Institute for Reporter Freedom and Safety.

He said correctional facility No 3 is intended for prisoners, suffering from tuberculosis.

"Earlier Huseynov underwent a medical treatment in medical center of the Penitentiary system. The journalist suffers from tuberculosis and has serious problems with his lungs", said Huseynov.

It should be reminded that on January 21 of 2008 Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Huseynov to 6 years in prison. Moreover, he is prohibited to engage in the journalism activity within two years. Under the verdict of the Appellate court, his term of imprisonment was reduced to five years.

The journalist was arrested by the officials of the Ministry of National Security on July 24 of the last year. Huseynov was charged under article 311.1 (bribery).
