"Today, most Azerbaijanis, living in Georgia, face different problems, caused by zero or weak knowledge of the Georgian language", said head of the Georgian Azerbaijani cultural center Fazil Hasanov.

According to him, these problems mainly appear in the educational sphere. He said after completing secondary education young people are unable to enter high schools as they do not know the state language or they enter high schools on a paying basis, said he.
"Most Azerbaijanis are not familiar with the country's legislation for they do not know the Georgian language. In the result, either a businessman or simply a citizen faces such problems, which are difficult to be settled.
Naturally, the study of the Georgian language will help settle many problems. Therefore, we have opened free language courses in our cultural centers two years before".
According to him, the new project of the Georgian language courses was launched in 50 large schools in all places of compact residence of Azerbaijanis.
"Today, we want to thank the Azerbaijani government, the state committee for work with Azerbaijanis, residing abroad, for support.
We hope that it will increase the interest to the Georgian language among people who want to continue their education. Let's see how effective it will be. Anyway, we are confident that the results can only be positive, for children display a great interest. We also receive appeals from other schools with lower number of pupils with a request to organize such language courses in their schools.
In other words, this interest is caused by the awareness that one of the main conditions of successful integration with the society and participation in the sociopolitical life of the country is a knowledge of the state language.
