Person, guilty of a terror act in Abu Bekir mosque, and 25 members of Forest Brothers grouping detained in Azerbaijan

"25 people from the Forest Brothers grouping, including a person, directly responsible for the terror act in the Abu Bekir mosque, have been detained and arrested. The person responsible for the terror act is Sumgayit city resident Elnur Bakhshiyev", said the press service, quoting on Garalov.

Earlier the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan has declared the detainment of 18 persons, suspected of involvement into the explosion in the Abu Bekir mosque.

On August 17 a grenade was thrown into the prayer house of the Abu Bekir mosque, which is considered Wahhabist. The explosion resulted in the death of 3 people and several persons were injured.

The prosecutor general announced that search actions to find and neutralize the remaining members of the grouping are being held in Gusary.

Currently, it is impossible to list the names of the arrested persons of the grouping due to conduction of a number of investigative actions.
