Oqtay Atakhan: "After the announcement, made by the National Security Ministry, it is possible to state that terrorist acts in Abu Bekir were prepared and incited by the Russian special services"

"When interviewed immediately after the explosion in the Abu Bekir mosque, I said that it is likely to be prepared by Russian special services. And today when the official bodies of the country state complicity of some "Forest brothers" in the said terrorist act, the said statement proves the version I have previously proposed", said leader of Humanist Party of Azerbaijan, Oqtay Atakhan.

According to him, it is now possible to state that these terror acts were committed by Russian special services to further encourage the separatist movements inside our country, but this time under the flag of Islam, destabilize situation in the country in connection with the Georgian events and upcoming presidential elections and to create another center of tensions and draw attention of the world community to neighbor Azerbaijan and again remind of the fundamentalist Iran and initiate the soonest bombing of the said state by the United States.

He said someone tries to use not only Lezgiun, but also Talish, Avar, Kurdish and other cards.

"If someone considers that only Russian special services deal with this issue, he is mistaken. The said issue is on the agenda of all foreign residences, which operate in our country either limitlessly or under any masks. The National Security Ministry has recently acquired some experience in combat with terrorism, but it can hardly take pride in any combat with foreign representatives, who have probably penetrated into the inviolable sanctuary of our state bodies, including the Ministry of National Security", said the party leader.

He said there is a risk of repetition of such a situation and the threat is high, as such terrorist groups do not operate alone and they are always backed by a certain political force, mostly external, on the level of special services of any foreign country, coordinating their work with senior officials.

According to him, there is also a risk of sharp deterioration of the sociopolitical situation in the country before presidential elections in Azerbaijan, which is connected not with economic factors such as law salaries and pensions, widely spread corruption and impunity of officials but with the terror acts, conducted simultaneously in different regions of the country by foreign special services.
